Pacifist plays and ethnical touches
By Ika

From the hardest notes of the soundtrack of Black Hawk Down to the most celestial ones of The Gladiator. This is the development of the sensual and alluring collection designed by Ika, an Indonesian stylist who is famous for her garments which are exclusively handmade and shown during the Hong Kong fashion week.
The runway is revived by warriors, strong, self-assured and angry women wearing helmets on their heads, covering their faces and crests made of feathers. The colours are burnt: from the brightest browns to the darkest ones, till the carbon black for the puffed and long parachute skirts. Fringes, asymmetrical cuts and decorations underline the strong spirit of the collection.
However, little by little the notes change into a sweeter soundtrack, introducing a new woman warrior on the runway, a sky warrior. The new heroine is ethereal and transparent, and she plays with voluminous sinuous dresses, with blue and white optical patterns. Laces, embroideries and veils sweeten the soil and relax the mind.

"For this collection I was inspired by strenght, the power to react to all negative things sorrounding us nowadays", said the stylist to MFF. "Through this collection I intended to give a message: Bloodshed grows on this earth. For the future of our next generation, let’s wake up and take action, before it’s too late. Peace is a long time coming, but it is my wish for this earth to be free from fear and suppression.”

The elements which are present throughout the whole collection is handwork with stretch tubular fabrics. Besides the clothing line, the stylist designed a particular footwear collection, where ethnical flip-flops with decorated coconut soles are triumphant.
